Leader in Training (LIT)
Our unique Leader-in-Training (LIT) Program at Manitou is designed to foster the development of leadership skills and ready our oldest campers to apply for our CIT Program the following year.
As a Leader-in-Training (LIT) at Manitou you will have the opportunity to experience:
- Direct involvement in our Manitou Cares programs, including working with the C.N.I.B. Lake Joseph Centre to assist campers who are blind or visually impaired by both attending their camp and acting as a sight guide when their campers visit Camp Manitou.
- Community service hours (up to 30) as a result participating in our Manitou Cares and Special L.I.T.-ONLY camper mentorship programs
- A rewarding day of play, one-on-one counselling and mentoring with our one day ‘Rookie” campers
- Buddy up with our younger campers! A unique chance to provide guidance and support through Manitou’s peer group mentorship program
- Involvement in camp-wide programs, unit programs and our end-of-session banquets
- New opportunities for exciting day and canoe trips outside of camp
