 | Christopher Ambury Specialist | From Kingston, Ontario, Christopher is a student at the University of Western Ontario in London studying Geography and English. He has past volunteer experience as a Counsellor with Nature Explorer’s Camp and as a leader with Wilderness Backpacking Experience. In high school he worked extensively with his student council, serving as Head Boy and being presented with the Principal’s Award for Student Leadership. He also holds his NLS and Wilderness First Aid certifications. This will be Christopher’s second summer at Manitou. |
 | Katelyn Brooks Specialist | From Hamilton, Ontario, Katelyn is a student in the Concurrent Education Outdoor Adventure Leadership program at Laurentian University in Sudbury. Katelyn has extensive canoe tripping experience in Temagami, Tobermory and Algonquin and holds her ORCA level C, Bronze Cross and Wilderness Experience, Wilderness First Responder and PADI diver certifications. She has volunteer experience working with Alan A Greenleaf Public School and with Neise’s Studio of Dance. This will be Katelyn’s second summer working at Manitou. |
 | Kaleigh Clark Specialist | From Sunderland, Ontario, Kaleigh is a graduate of the University of Windsor’s Drama in Education and Community program. During the year, Kaleigh has worked as a Resident Assistant and has previous experience as a student Drama Teacher at Immaculate Conception Elementary and St. Vincent Massey High in Windsor and as a junior leader with the 1st Sunderland Girl Guides. This will be Kaleigh’s second summer at Manitou. |
 | Timothy Clutton Specialist | From Toronto, Ontario, Tim is a graduate of Queen’s University in Kingston with degrees in Education and Chemistry. During the year, he spent six months teaching at a private school in Mexico City. Tim has previous experience working as a Senior Residence Don at school and working over several summers as the Assistant Director and LIT Director at camp Ke-mon-oya and as a counsellor at Camp Widjiitiwin. He holds his NLS and ORCA level 1 certifications. This will be Tim’s first summer at Manitou. |
 | Ben Cowley Specialist | From Toronto, Ontario, Ben is a student at the University of Western Ontario in London studying Political Science. During the year, Ben has served as his Fraternity’s pledge class president. Ben previously competed on school Hockey and Snowboard teams. He also has experience as an assistant ski instructor with Alpine Ski Club and holds his Bronze Cross. Ben was a Manitou camper for eight years, received the Lokash Award in 2005 and completed our CIT program in 2006. This will be his fifth summer on staff and 13th at Manitou. |
 | Jesse Crisci Specialist | From Milton, Ontario, Jesse is a graduate of the Outdoor Adventure Business Program at Algonquin College. Through his program Jesse has done extensive adventure trip planning and holds his Wilderness First Responder, Swift-water Rescue Technician level 2, ORCA Instructor and IMBA Trail Guide Patroller certifications and his Bronze Medallion. This will be Jesse’s second summer at Manitou. |
 | Alex Davis Specialist | From Toronto Ontario, Alex is a student at Forest Hill Collegiate. During the year, Alex runs competitively for his school’s Cross Country and Track and Field teams and plays on his school’s Football team. He has volunteered at the Beth Shalom Synagogue participating in their leadership program and also holds his Bronze Cross. A Manitou camper for four years, Alex completed our CIT program in 2010. This will be his first summer on staff. |
 | Rachel Erickson Specialist | From Othello, Washington, Rachel is a graduate of the Evergreen State College in Olympia with a degree in Biology and Chemistry. During the year, Rachel teaches snowboarding at Copper Mountain Resort in Colorado. She has studied abroad in Costa Rica and Guatemala and worked at camps in Wisconsin, Washington and New York as a Unit Leader, Rock wall Specialist and Wilderness Trip Leader. She holds her Red Cross Lifeguard, AED and Wilderness First Responder certifications. This will be Rachel’s first summer at Manitou. |
 | Spencer Hoffman Specialist | From Toronto, Ontario, Spencer is a student in the AGO program at the University of Western Ontario in London studying Political Science. During the year, Spencer serves as the Philanthropy chair of his fraternity and has been the Director of Outreach for Africa In Reach and the VP Philanthropy on Western Hillel’s executive council. Formerly, Spencer competed in DECA and served as a student retreat leader. He plays hockey, softball and rugby, has coaching experience with a select minor hockey team and holds his Bronze Cross. Spencer was a Manitou camper for seven years, completing our CIT program in 2006. This will be his fifth summer on staff and 12th at Manitou. |
 | Bethan Hudson Specialist | From Hertford, United Kingdom, Beth is a graduate of Presdales School and has been spending the past year travelling in North America. Beth has completed both her Girlguiding Leadership Qualification and her Duke of Edinburgh Gold level award. She has been a guide leader for three years, completed canoe trips in Norway and holds her Bronze Medallion. This will be Beth’s first summer at Manitou. |
 | Kenny Hughes Specialist | From Toronto, Ontario, Kenny is a student at Mohawk College in Hamilton studying Television Broadcasting. Kenny has competed for over seven year in canoeing, kayaking and dragonboat racing with the West Rouge Canoe Club. He also competed with the Canadian Junior National Dragonboat team in Australia winning two silver and one bronze medal. Has has played competitive rugby, raced track and holds his Bronze Medallion. This will be Kenny’s first summer on staff. |
 | Ben Kim Specialist | Originally from Geoje, South Korea, Ben is a graduate of the University of Calgary with a Masters degree in Music Composition. He is previously a graduate of Grimmel College in Iowa with a combined degree in Biology and Music. Ben has extensive experience working as a director, music director, rehearsal pianist, accompanist, and conductor for a range of musical theatre and operatic productions. He is also a member of the University of Calgary Chamber Choir. He has previous camp experience as an English Instructor at Global Rookie Club camp in Korea. This will be Ben’s third summer at Manitou. |
 | Rachel Klein Specialist | From Toronto, Ontario, Rachel is a student at Earl Haig Secondary studying Visual Arts. She has past camping and canoe tripping experience as a CIT with Glen Bernard Camp and with the City of Toronto. She was also an assistant acro coach at the Ontario School of Ballet and holds her Bronze Cross. This will be Rachel’s first summer at Manitou. |
 | Brent Lough Specialist | From Arnprior, Ontario, Brent is a student in the Outdoor Adventure Leadership Program at Laurentian University in Sudbury. Through his wilderness experience, Brent has paddled on the Ottawa and Moisie Rivers as well as in Algonquin Park and Kukagami. He also has experience snowshoeing in the LaCloshe Mountains. He holds his NLS, Wilderness First Responder, Wilderness Survival, ORCKA moving water 1A & canoe tripping 3, Sea Kayak level 1 and Rescue 3 International SRT certifications. This will be his first summer working at Manitou. |
 | Daniel Marshall Specialist | From Calgary, Alberta, Daniel is a graduate of the University of Calgary with a degree in Music and Music Composition. He has studied piano for over 12 years including the last two at school under a concert pianist. He has experience as a piano teacher at Studio Nine School of Music and at the Sonata School of Music and is a member of his school’s Spiritus Chamber Choir. This will be Daniel’s second summer at Manitou. |
 | Graham McHugh Specialist | From Toronto, Ontario, Graham is a graduate of Queens University in Kingston with a degree in Mining Engineering. He has previous experience leading canoe trips with “at risk” youth through Camp Outlook and with the 153rd Scouts. He also has experience as a counsellor with the West End Soccer Clinic camp program. Graham was a recipient of the Canadian Chief Scout’s Award and holds his Bronze Cross and Wilderness First Aid certifications. This will be his first summer at Manitou. |
 | Elizabeth McIelwain Specialist | From Cobourg, Ontario, Elizabeth is a student at the University of Ottawa studying practical and theoretical Theatre. She has experience volunteering with the SFUO Peer Help Centre and has been a member of her school’s Musical Theatre club. This will be Elizabeth’s first season working at Manitou. |
 | Evan Minkus Specialist | From Deerfield, Illinois, Evan is a graduate of DePaul University in Chicago with a degree in Radio, Television & Film. Evan has worked as a writer for scout.com and as an actor and production assistant with Ambassador Talent appearing in various films, TV shows and commercials and has camp experience teaching golf at North Star Camp in Wisconsin. More recently, Evan works as a Tennis Pro at the Lake Forest Club and at the Mid-Town Athletic Club. This will be his first summer at Manitou. |
 | Kati Pearson Specialist | From Mississauga, Ontario, Kati is working towards her MA in Musical Theatre at the University of Montata in Missoula. She is previously a graduate of Queen’s University in Kingston with a degree in Music. She also has completed her grade 8 piano and grade 10 vocal qualifications with the Royal Conservatory of Music. Kati has worked with the City of Mississauga for five years as a Swim Instructor and Lifeguard and holds her NLS, Instructors, Examiners and Aquatic Supervisor certifications. She also worked as a Mentor for two seasons with Interprovincial Music Camp hosted at Manitou. This will be her second summer on staff. |
 | Sam Prodanuk Specialist | From Red Deer, Alberta, Sam is a student at the University of Alberta in Edmonton studying English and Education. She has past experience as a soccer coach with the Red Deer Soccer Association and has volunteered with the Edmonton Skateboard Association and the Kerry Wood Nature Centre. An avid water-skier and wakeboarder for over 15 years, Sam also holds her Bronze Medallion. This will be her first summer at Manitou. |
 | Janet Rudzroga Specialist | From Waterdown, Ontario, Janet is a student in the Outdoor Adventure Leadership Concurrent Education program at Laurentian University in Sudbury. Janet has extensive paddling and tripping experience through her high school’s Outbound program and currently with her school’s Kayak Club. She holds her Wilderness First Responder, Wilderness Survival, ORCA level 1 and Bronze Cross certifications. She has past experience as a Counsellor at Canterbury Earthkeeper Camp, a mentor at Flamborough Centre School and CanSkate Coach at Flamboro Skating Club. She also previously competed in touch football, rugby and badminton. This will be Janet’s second summer at Manitou. |
 | Alexandra Saiz Ortiz Specialist | From Bogota, Colombia, Alex works during the year as a high school Spanish teacher. She is a graduate of Universidad Pedagogica with a degree in Spanish and English Education. Alex has past experience as Ropes Program Director at Camp Rotary near Boston and completed a Technical Skills course with Project Adventure. The following summer, she worked with children on a ranch in Colorado. This will be Alex’s second third working at Manitou. |
 | Matthias Sebecke Specialist | Originally from South Africa, Matthias now lives in Peterborough and is a student in the Fish and Wildlife Tech program at Sir Sandford Flemming College. He has past work experience planting trees with the OFAH Atlantic Salmon Restoration program. He also took part in a Cadet leadership camp, holds his ORCA basic B, CYA white sail 2 and Bronze Medallion certifications. This will be his second summer working at Manitou. |
 | Paul Sefchovich Specialist | From Mexico City, Mexico, Paul is a student at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts studying Music. Paul has many years experience playing guitar and other instruments and playing in local bands. He returns for his second summer on staff at Mantiou. |
 | Jeremy Spira Specialist | From Toronto, Ontario, Jeremy is a graduate of the Community Hebrew Academy of Toronto. He has spent the past year in with Aardvark Israel in Jerusalem. Jeremy has past experience as a Head Lifeguard at Camp Eitan and as a counsellor at Camp Timberlane and holds his NLS certification. A Manitou camper for five years, Jeremy returns after several years for his first summer on staff. |
 | Robyn Stevens Specialist | From Guelph, Ontario, Robyn is a student at the University of Ottawa studying Nursing. Robyn has worked for almost five years as a lifeguard and swimming instructor with the City of Guelph. She holds her NLS, swimming instructor, first aid instructor, AED, aquatic supervisor and bronze examiner certifications and competes with her school’s competitive lifeguard team. She volunteers regularly with the Ottawa Regional Cancer Society and has participated in humanitarian trips to Guatemala, Tanzania and the Philippines. This will be Robyn’s first summer at Manitou. |
 | Julie Taylor Specialist | From Parry Sound, Ontario, Julie is a graduate of the Outdoor Adventure program at Algonquin College. Julie spent the past summer as a sea kayaking and white water canoe guide with Black Feather and holds her Wilderness First Responder, ORCKA flat water and canoe tripping certifications. She also has experience as a counsellor with the YMCA. This will be Julie’s first summer at Manitou. |
 | Blake Weld Specialist | From Minneapolis, Minnesota, Blake is a graduate of St. Cloud State University with a Fine Arts degree specializing in Photography. Blake has several years experience working as a counsellor at a youth hunting camp and has led a number of canoe trips to the Boundary Waters. This will be his first summer at Manitou. |
 | Landon Wexler Specialist | From Toronto, Ontario, Landon is a student at the University of Guelph studying Marketing. During the year, Landon has worked as a Hockey Instructor with the Forest Hill Hockey Organization and has played hockey for many years. He completed the CIT program at Camp Timberlane and holds his Bronze Medallion. A Manitou camper for six years, Landon returns for his third summer on staff. |
 | Jerisse Williams Specialist | From Antigua, West Indies, Jerisse works as a sailing instructor at the Antigua Yacht Club. He spent a year studying at Antigua State College and is a level 2 certified Dingy instructor and RYA power boat operator. He has raced competitively for several years including a 3rd place finish at the Antigua Laser Open in 2010 and 3rd place at the CSA Caribbean Dinghy Championship in 2009. This will be Jerisse’s first summer at Manitou. |
 | Ashton Winstanley-Hayes Specialist | From Penetanguishene, Ontario, Ashton is a student at the University of Western Ontario in London studying Biology and Geography. During the year, Ashton is an executive member of the Western Outdoors Club and has previous experience as an Arial guide at Treetop Trekking Arbraska in Barrie. She has also worked as a teacher’s assistant at Prime Time Nursery School and as a Karate Instructor with Shito-Kai Karate. This will be Ashton’s first summer at Manitou. |
