OFFICE, MEDICAL & SUPPORT STAFF

Gord Anderson Originally from Glasgow, Scotland, Gord now lives in Toronto, Ontario where he has been working and taking courses through Ryerson University. Gord is a graduate of Bemidji State University in Minnesota with a B Sc. He played Division II NCAA baseball while at school, and has had coaching experience including a position as Assistant Coach of the York University Men's Varsity Team. In 2002, Gord was named World Games captain. This will be his eighth summer at Manitou.
Nicky Brockman From Essex, Ontario, Nicky is a graduate of the University of Windsor's Nursing program. Nicky has several years experience working as a health care assistant at both Iler Lodge and Country Village Health Care Centre. She is also a volunteer fire fighter at her local station and has experience as a basketball and soccer coach. Nicky also twice attended the OELC in Barrie. She returns for her second summer at Manitou.
Matt Brundage From Toronto, Ontario, Matt is an English teacher at J. Clarke Richardson Collegiate. He holds his B Ed from York University, his BA from Trent University in Peterborough and completed a year of Theatre at George Brown College in Toronto. Matt worked several years professionally in theatre starting in 1995, as a part owner of Pudge Productions. Since then he has written and directed several plays including Manitou hits "Manitou: The Musical" along with its many sequels and "MacBeth: More or Less." Matt returns for his ninth season at Manitou and third as Arts Coordinator.
Glen Crossman From Parry Sound, Ontario, Glen has recently shut down his own business to come and work for Manitou on a full-time basis. Glen has years of experience working with building foundations, excavations, plumbing, electrical and landscaping work. He returns for his fourth year on staff.
Alana Devereaux From St. John's, Newfoundland, Alana is a student at the Centre for Nursing Studies at Memorial University. Alana has completed nursing placements at the Cambridge Estates Home and at Eastern Health. He has also worked or volunteered with the YMCA-YWCA of St. John's, the Boys and Girls Club of St. John's and with the Children's Wish Foundation of Newfoundland. This will be Alana's first summer at Manitou.
Caitlin Dobie Originally from Mississauga, Ontario, Caitlin now lives in Oakville and is a graduate of Wilfred Laurier University with an honours degree in Psychology and Biology. During the past year, Caitlin has served as the Chairperson of the Judicial Affairs Council at Laurier. She also has past experience as a Lifeguard, Snowboarding and Skating Instructor. This will be Caitlin's first summer at Manitou.
Heather Drew From Toronto, Ontario, Heather has spent the year working at the Institute of Law Clerks. A graduate of Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Heather has a degree in Gender and Women's Studies. She is a certified amateur Figure Skating coach and also competed nationally in sprint Canoe/Kayak with the Balmy Brach Canoe Club. She has prior experience working as a private nanny. Heather returns for her third summer on staff.
Kaitlyn Foggo From Kitchener, Ontario, Kaitlyn is a graduate of Grand River Collegiate. Over the past year, Kaitlyn has been doing a placement at Lackner Woods Public School as a teaching assistant. She is also actively involved in her school's student council and plays on the Varsity Girls Field Hockey team. Kaitlyn also spent two summers as a CIT at Sportsworld Day Camp. This will be her first summer at Manitou.
Jeremy Friedman Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, Jeremy completed medical school there in 1985 and moved to Toronto, Ontario shortly after. He specialized in paediatrics at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto from 1990 to 1994, since then he has been on staff at the hospital as the Director of Inpatient Paediatric Medicine. He is also the author of the 2nd edition of the bestselling book "The 3 AM Handbook: The most commonly asked questions about your child's health." He returns for his fourth summer at Manitou.
Dan Galley From Dunchurch, Ontario, Dan works during the year as a self-employed forester in the Parry Sound area and is also an avid Animal Rights activist. He is a graduate of the University of Toronto with a degree in Forestry. Dan returns for his sixth season at Manitou.
Zvi Gorlick From Toronto, Ontario, Zvi has practiced Family Medicine in Toronto for over 19 years. He is a graduate of the University of Toronto's Medical School. He also volunteers as a house league hockey coach during the year. He returns for his seventh year at Manitou.
Dennis Jeffrey From Parry Sound, Ontario, Dennis has been part of the maintenance team with us and at the Inn at Manitou for many years. We estimate that Dennis' Manitou experience now exceeds 23 seasons making him easily the longest serving member of the Manitou staff team.
Jennifer Labonte From Windsor, Ontario, Jennifer is a graduate of St. Annes High School. More recently, Jennifer has been working in Respite Care with Family's First. This will be Jennifer's first summer on staff at Manitou.
Todd Levy From Toronto, Ontario, Todd is a graduate of the University of Toronto's Medical School. He perused post-graduate studies in Toronto and London and now practices Family and Urgent Care Medicine in Toronto. Todd was a Manitou camper four three years and joins us now for his seventh summers as one of our Camp Doctors.
Chris McKibbin From Toronto, Ontario, Chris is a French and Phys-Ed teacher at XXX Public School. Chris holds a degree in Educations from OISE in Toronto and a degree in Sociology from the University of Guelph. He also spent several months in an immersion program in Trios Pistoles, Quebec. He has experience counselling at a North York day camp as well as coaching house league hockey and little league softball. Chris was named World Games captain in 2001. He returns for his eighth season on staff at Manitou.
Brittny Robins From Aurora, Ontario, Brittny is a student at the University of Guelph. Brittny has been playing competitive tennis and volleyball for many years. She also has experience as a counsellor's assistant at Camp Arrowhead in 2002. Brittny was a Manitou camper for four years, completing our CIT program in 2004. This will be her third summer on staff and seventh at Manitou.
Lee Sears From McKellar, Ontario, Lee has been a neighbour of camp Manitou for his entire life. Recently, Lee has joined the Manitou team as our lead carpenter, and camp has benefited greatly by taking advantage of all of his finishing touches. The will be his third season at Manitou.
Jessi Stern From Toronto, Ontario, Jessi is a student at Bayview Glen School. During the year, Jessi plays on her school's Basketball and Softball teams and also sits on the school's Student Council as Head of Events. She also has experience as an Umpire with North Toronto Baseball, has volunteered at Eglington School and holds her Bronze Cross. Jessi was a Manitou camper for six years completing our CIT program in 2006. This will be her first summer on staff.
Amanda Switzer From Essex, Ontario, Amanda is a graduate of the Nursing program at the University of Windsor. During the year, she has been working at Country Village Nursing Home. Amanda joins us for her first season working at Manitou.
